EXPERIENCE

Damon Ellis, a partner at Saxon, Gilmore, Carraway, Gibbons, Lash & Wilcox, P.A., is a litigator, with extensive experience in both federal and state courts.  His litigation practice includes general civil litigation, commercial cases and consumer cases as well as bankruptcy and reorganization.  Mr. Ellis has significant experience in litigating claims arising under various consumer protection statues, including the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"); the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act ("FCCPA"); the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA"); the Federal Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act ("RESPA"); and, the Federal Truth In Lending Act ("TILA").  Mr. Ellis received his B.A. degree from the University of California, Irvine in 1993 and his J.D. degree from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, in 1996.  He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the State of Florida.  Mr. Ellis is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law section of The Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association.
