Suzanne DeCopain was the guest speaker at the Caribbean Law Student Association (CLSA)

SJD-FCLS-09-20142014 – Suzanne J. DeCopain, an associate at Saxon, Gilmore, Carraway & Gibbons, P.A., was the guest speaker at the Caribbean Law Student Association (CLSA) meeting at Florida Coastal School of Law (FCSL). Ms. DeCopain discussed how being a member of CLSA assisted her in succeeding in law school, her experience as a prosecutor, and transitioning into private, civil practice. Ms. DeCopain concentrates her practice in the areas of affordable and public housing. Ms. DeCopain previously worked for over three years as an assistant state attorney for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit of Florida, gaining significant jury and bench trial experience. She received her B.A. degree from Florida Gulf Coast University and her J.D. degree from FCSL, where she won best moot court brief and held many positions, including Co-Director of the Pro Bono Society, Chaplain of the Black Law Student Association, and founding President of CLSA. While at FCSL, she helped her clients in the Immigration Clinic gain permanent residency.

Ms. DeCopain is a member of The Florida Bar, Hillsborough County Bar Association, George Edgecomb Bar Association, American Inns of Court (Tampa Bay Inn of Court), and former board member of the Florida Gulf Coast University Alumni Association, Board of Directors.
