Proposed Senate Bill 750, the Protect Florida Small Business Act, has passed the Florida Senate Committee on Regulated Industries. The bill seeks to provide protection for franchisees by not allowing franchisors to cancel franchise contracts without cause or a warning before cancellation. Under the bill, franchisees would also be allowed to sell or transfer their businesses more easily. We will continue to track the status of this proposed bill.
