Ricardo Gilmore was a Moderator at the HDLI’s 2016 Fall Legal Conference

2016-Ricardo L. Gilmore, senior partner and co-founder of Saxon|Gilmore, was a moderator at the HDLI’s 2016 Fall Legal Conference held in New Orleans, Louisiana. The session was titled “Another Look at Guns and Weapons in Public Housing”. The HDLI Model Firearms Policy was discussed, along with decisions made in McDonald v. City of Chicago and Moore v. Madigan.

Mr. Gilmore serves as special counsel to housing authorities in Florida and other states relative to affordable housing development matters, which involve a multiplicity of legal issues unique to housing authorities as well as applicable to governmental agencies and/or corporate entities. He has developed a specialty in public housing law and has been involved in two extensive litigation matters appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court that established nationwide precedents. Further, Mr. Gilmore has been involved in the establishment and operation of instrumentalities and affiliates associated with development and fundraising for housing authorities. He has considerable experience in Florida Government in the Sunshine laws, Public Records Law, real estate redevelopment, and corporate governance issues affecting commissioners of housing authorities, as well as public finance relative to issuance of municipal bonds and acquisition of tax credits.
