Sunrise Park Apartment Homes Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Bernice S. Saxon, managing partner and co-founder, and Jozette V. Chack-On, a partner, of Saxon, Gilmore, Carraway & Gibbons, P.A., attended the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Sunrise Park Apartment Homes. The ceremony was held by the Lake Wales Housing Authority (LWHA). Albert Kirkland Jr., Executive Director of LWHA, the Honorable Michael Carter, Mayor of the City of Lake Wales, the Polk County Board of County Commissioners representative, Juan Miranda, Grant Manager at the US Department of Housing & Urban Development, and Paula Rhodes, Director of Development of Norstar Development USA, were presenters at the ceremony, and the McLaughlin Middle School Choir performed at the ceremony.

Phase I of Sunrise Park Apartment Homes is completed and consists of 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom apartments. The project consisted of mixed financing from low income tax credits, casualty insurance proceeds, and HUD RHF Funds. LWHA is located in Central Florida and was created in 1969 to provide housing to low-income families. In addition to Sunrise Park Apartment Homes, LWHA has another development, Grove Manor, which was constructed in 1971. LWHA owns and manages 140 public housing units and administers 172 Section 8 vouchers.
