March 18, 2014 – Fort Walton Beach Housing Authority held a grand opening for its SoundSide project. Fort Walton Beach Mayor Mike Anderson, City Manager Michael Beedie, Housing Authority Chairman Fred Thomas, and other guests gathered at the 13-acre site to celebrate the new $22 million affordable housing project developed by Sound Side Apartments, LLC. The 200-unit complex features one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments, a pool, a fitness center, and a wireless Internet cafe.
