Sarah M. Hammett, Richard N. Asfar and Julie M. Baumgartner, associates/attorneys at Saxon, Gilmore, Carraway & Gibbons, P.A. attended the November HCBA membership luncheon. Ms. Hammett led the Make a Difference Day as chair of the HCBA’s Community Services Committee where they filled 48 elderly veterans’ wish lists and donated wish list items to the veterans.
Ms. Hammett also organized the Alpha Angels program with Alpha House in connection with the HCBA. Alpha House’s mission is to empower pregnant and parenting women in crisis to realize their ability to break the cycles of poverty and abuse and create promising lives. Alpha House provides a maternity-based comprehensive residential program for up to 23 pregnant women and foster care teens and a transitional housing program for 16 adult women.
