The Tampa General Hospital Foundation’s Annual Dinner was held on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club. Foundation chairman John Touchton reported on the accomplishments of the past year and passed the gavel to the 2011-2012 chairman Rick Kouwe. Ron Bailey was honored as the recipient of the James M. “Red” McEwen Award.
Mary Bosy received the 2011 Madeleine P. Gibbons Humanitarian Award for her unmatched commitment and dedication to the hospital. Mary joined the Peace Corp at the age of 71 and taught teachers in remote countries. Later, she became a volunteer at Tampa General Hospital. The Volunteer of the Year Award was presented by Mrs. Gibbons’ son, John B. Gibbons, who is an attorney/shareholder at Saxon, Gilmore, Carraway & Gibbons, P.A..
